The Primary House employs nearly 100 people. We are proud of the fact that about a third (32%) of our staff members have been with the company for more than five years and about ten percent (10%) have been with the company more than eight years, a situation that is very rare in our field. In fact, nine of our staff members will have ten years of service with our company by 2006. All staff members working with children have undergone a criminal record check (CRC) through the K entucky State Police (K SP ) and additional check s, including one through Department of Permanency and Protection (DPP), commonly known as Department of Social Services (DSS) . All staff members have negative TB tests on file. All new staff members go through Primary House Orientation within first month of employment and a six (6) hour State Orientation within first three (3)months of employment. All staff members attend fifteen (15) hours of state approved training annually-the State of Kentucky requires only twelve (12) hours annually . In addition, more than fifty percent (50%) of our staff members are certified in CPR and First-aid (CPR/FA) and at least one person certified in CPR/FA is always on duty . All directors and supervisors are CPR/FA certified. Occasionally, volunteers and students are in the center. All volunteers and students have a clear CRC and negative TB test on file . Staff members should be wearing either a Primary House shirt or smock and a nametag identifying them as staff. If parents have a concern about any employee or volunteer in The Primary House, notify the Director and/or call the HOTLINE at 352-8434 immediately.
