We cannot accept a child for care or keep a child in care if any of the following are present:
- A temperature of 101 F or above
- An unexplained, potentially contagious rash
- Three loose bowel movements
- Vomiting
- Nits or Lice
- Exposed/Untreated ring worm
- Any other symptoms of potentially contagious illness
Children who are sent home with any of the above must be out of care for a full twenty four hours. A child can return at any point with a physician’s statement. We are required to exclude children with signs or symptoms of contagious illness from care. Please help us to keep all of our children as healthy as possible.
Parents will be given an illness report (IAI) if their child becomes ill at the center.
Parents will be notified if a child in their child’s room is diagnosed with a serious, contagious illness. Parents will also be notified if a child in their child’s room has lice. The Primary House has a ‘no-nit’ policy. Children who have had lice will not be allowed to return to the center until they are ‘nit-free.’
