Generally we do not close for inclement weather. In the case of very severe weather, however, we are sometimes forced to do so. If the weather is so bad that we cannot get staff in to care for the children, we are forced to close the centers . This is usually not the case during the day but is sometimes the case at night as the roads tend to get worse after dark. In addition, the Westport Road location closes on Saturdays of holiday weekends and we close early on Christmas Eve and Halloween. Parents pay on a tuition basis. A full week will be charged even if a holiday is during that week or if an unavoidable emergency such as a snow or ice storm is encountered. . We pay our staff for well deserved holidays.
We understand that few parents work 9-5, Monday thru Friday anymore. In fact many of us work long, non-traditional hours sometimes at more than one job. Many of us are attend school or classes in addition to working. To fully meet the varying needs of our families , both centers are open extended hours and we offer Saturday care.
Saturday care at the Elizabethtown center is open to all children enrolled in either Primary House . Saturday care is provided on a reservation basis only . Parents who need care on Saturday must reserve a space for their children by Thursday at 5:00p in order to be on the Saturday schedule . Parents can reserve slots for Saturday by calling the Elizabethtown center at (270)769-9631 and asking to be put on Saturday schedule. Parents can also reserve Saturday slots for their children by asking the director or supervisor in either Radcliff or Elizabethtown to put their children on the Saturday schedule. Please remember that we staff only for children who have slots reserved. Please include your children’s ages and estimated time of arrival and departure when you reserve spaces. We are there when you need us. We can make it work for you r family and your career.
